To use Access Accountants Evo, you need to connect your Tax data to Access Accountants Evo. The Practice Administrator must complete the steps listed below.
Set up the connection in Access Tax.
Authorise the connection in Access Accountants Evo.
Confirm the connection.
Before proceeding, please close all other browsers and windows.
Set up the connection
Log in to Access Tax and click the Practice Settings (cog) icon.
In the General tab, note down your Software ID. You'll need this later.
Click the Integration tab.
Under API Client Application drop-down menu select Access Data Engine, then click Generate Key.
An information window will appear advising you to copy the key and store it securely, click Yes.
The software will generate an API Key and a Secret Key.
Use Ctrl+C to copy and then Ctrl+V to paste both the API Key and Secret Key to a secure location, e.g. Notepad or Word, as you will need these later.
Note: The Secret Key will be hashed when you leave this screen and cannot be retrieved later. You will need to repeat the process if the Secret Key is not recorded or is misplaced.
Authorise the connection
Log in to Access Accountants Evo.
Click the Access Button, then under Products, click Data Engine.
Click the menu icon then select Connections, then select Shared.
Locate C - abb - Connection - Access Tax and click the Properties (cog) icon.
Under the General tab, in the description field, enter the text Software ID nnnn nnnnn n (where nnnn nnnnn n is your Software ID from Practice Settings).
Click the Authentication tab and enter:
API Key in the Client ID field.
Secret Key in the Client Secret field.
Scroll to Connected User and click the Refresh icon.
Navigate back to Access Tax, then click Allow to authenticate the connection.
Back on the Access Accountants Evo Authentication window, click Save.
Confirm the connection
Email [email protected] to request connection confirmation. Once confirmed, return to Access Accountants Evo (Access Tax) Getting Started to continue the setup. You are now all set to start sharing content with your colleagues.
