Important: Ensure you have notified the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) of your hosted SBR software service to ensure Access Tax can lodge and prefill.
If you receive a failed to get prefill data error, and are unable to prefill:
Log in to Access Tax go to the Settings cog (top right).
Click on the Agents tab then left click into the relevant tax agent entry.
Confirm that the ABN is correct, as an incorrect ABN can cause prefilling issues.
On the General tab, check the Software ID in Access Tax matches your details in Access Manager (am.ato.gov.au).
Ensure all practice details within the General tab are correct, i.e. Customer ID, Customer reference, and that there are no pending license/renewal issues noted.
If the issue occurs only for specific clients:
You are the registered tax agent for the client.
Ensure the end date on the return is correct.
