Access Tax - Change the status on a failed lodgment return in Access Tax

Updated this week

In Tax, after a return fails to lodge, the status automatically updates to Lodged or Submitted even though they were not successfully transmitted to the Australian Taxation Office (ATO). If the ATO are experiencing an outage, the error, status unknown polling limit reached, will display.

  1. Log in to Tax, then click the arrow to the left of the client's name.

  2. On the rejected tax form, click the pencil icon on the right-hand side.

  3. In the Edit Tax Form Details window.

  4. In the Status box drop-down the arrow to change the tax form status as required.

  5. Click Save.

  6. Rectify the reason for the rejection and relodge.

Note: An accepted lodgment will display an SBR transaction ID or message ID in the lodgment summary report. However, if the ATO portal is not reflecting the updated status, contact the ATO to investigate further.
