When you tick the Update to ATO checkbox in the Edit Client Details or New Client window, Tax sends updated client information to the ATO via the Practitioner Lodgment Service (PLS).
Information sent includes:
Address changes (income tax, activity statement or postal).
Financial institution details (for refunds and EFT payments).
Contact details (email, phone).
Client name updates (individuals and sole traders only).
A warning message will appear: 'Updates will be sent to the ATO.' If your practice has enabled MFA for ATO interaction in Practice Settings, you’ll be prompted to enter a six-digit code from your authenticator app.
Tip: You can send Add, Delete and Return Not Necessary updates using this feature.
